Class 1 biocompatible resin for surgical guides.

Surgical Guide Resin is an autoclavable, biocompatible resin for applications including 3D printing dental surgical guides for implant placement. Surgical Guide Resin was formulated specifically for Formlabs printers and rigorously tested to meet solvent disinfection and autoclave sterilization standards for implant systems.

Use Surgical Guide Resin to 3D print surgical guides, drilling templates, pilot drill guides, and device sizing templates that exceed dental demands in accuracy, part quality, and performance. Download our Application Guide to learn the complete digital workflow and best practices for making 3D printed surgical guides.

Supports print resolutions: 100 and 50 microns (Form 2), 100 microns (Form 3B).
Post-curing required.
Resin Tank LT recommended for Form 2.

Form 2 and Form 3B only. Not compatible with Form 3.

Digital Dentistry with Formlabs

Print accurate surgical guides for implant dentistry.

1. Digital Design

Design surgical guides by using implant treatment planning software to integrate CBCT and intraoral scan data.

2. Print and Prepare

Print on the Form 2 or Form 3B with Formlabs Dental SG Resin. Post-cure with a cure chamber, remove supports, and add drill sleeves.

3. Procedure

Simply sterilize prints in an autoclave to use surgical guides directly in the mouth during implant surgery.

Note

To achieve desired properties, the Instructions for Use must be followed. Prints made with Dental SG Resin should be fully post-cured for 10 minutes at a 60°C temperature under 108W of both UV-A and UV-Blue light. Contact Customer Support for post-curing recommendations.

Bring the Advantages of Digital Implantology to Your Practice.

Effective presurgical planning

Examine vital structures and osseous topography in implant planning software to perform less invasive procedures and conserve anatomic structures.

Improved patient experience

Avoid messy manual impressions and tedious stone model pour-ups by taking digital impressions. Reduce surgical time compared to freehand techniques.

Precise implant placement

Carry out precise implant procedures with confidence. Superimpose preoperative and postoperative CBCT scans to easily verify final implant placement accuracy.

Clinical Case Study

Accurate implant placement and clinical outcomes are crucial in digital implantology. Learn how Daniel Whitley DDS and Sompop Bencharit DDS, MS, FACP tested and verified the performance and precision of Dental SG in this white paper. Read about print accuracy, incorporating 3D printing into a clinical workflow, and actual clinical outcomes from the first implant surgery with a Dental SG printed surgical guide.

Accuracy Study

This difference map shows a 3D scan of the printed surgical guide overlaid with the original 3D model. The color mapping indicates differences with the green areas revealing dimensional accuracy within ± 50 microns. A study of 84 surgical guides printed with Dental SG resin were scanned with an orthodontic scanner and compared with the .STLs of the intended models. Results showed that printed models were dimensionally accurate within ± 100 microns over 93% of the surface area, providing a precise fit for dental surgical applications.
