The world’s first bench-top vapor smoothing system, utilizing our cutting-edge green chemistry, PostPro Pure. Compatible with engineering plastics, the system produces a high quality vapor smoothed surface finish even in office environments.
Vapor smoothing for 3D printing is a process in which additively manufactured parts are exposed to a vapor under carefully controlled conditions. This non-line-of-sight approach creates parts with a smooth surface, improved mechanical performance, sealed and sterilizable surfaces. This innovative technology opens a world of new application opportunities in industries such as medical, automotive, food & beverage and consumer goods.
What Can You Expect?
PostPro SFX Vapor Smoothing process reduces the surface roughness of the part, enhances the material’s mechanical properties, such as elongation at break and tensile strength, and seals the surface against liquids.
PostPro SFX Vapor Smoothing reduces surface porosity and crack initiation sites, which increases elongation at break with no loss of tensile strength.
The smoothing process smooths and seals the surface of a part, reducing the roughness from 250+ μin RA to 64 – 100 μin RA.
The process has a minimimal effect on the dimensional accuracy of the part, with no more than 0.4% dimensional change. The process also does not degrade the mechanical properties of the part.
The surface of treated parts are completely sealed, making them liquid resistant and easy to clean.
Vapor smoothing can be combined with additional surface treatements to improve the end result such as dyeing, cerakote, or metal plating.
The reduced surface roughness of vapor smoothed parts reduces bacterial growth, making them suitable for use in the medical and food industries.
Unveiling the revolutionary PostPro SFX by AMT – the world’s first bench-top chemical vapour smoothing system, utilizing AMT’s cutting-edge green chemistry, PostPro Pure.
The system utilizes PostPro Pure in quick-change cartridges, for safe and hassle-free operation.
Although small in size, the SFX has the capability to achieve industry leading surface quality of 3D printed parts.
